A tiny town, 23 minutes from Canberra, is seeing an influx of tree-changers attracted to its quaint community feel and access to the capital.
Murrumbateman house prices have experienced a 7.21% increase over the last year, according to local agent George Southwell.
He says homes in the town of 3,000 are selling “like hotcakes” lately.
“Murrumbateman has recently become a magnet for tree-changers seeking an alternative to restrictive city living,” George said.
Property in the township is selling strongly due to the easy commute to the urban conveniences of Canberra, the community atmosphere that is ideal for raising a family, and the likes of the many lovely walking paths and equestrian trails.
“It has all the basics you need: grocery store, bakery, takeaway, pub and local markets, but with the added benefit of rural charm, good people and beautiful Yass Valley living.”
Mr Southwell from Ray White Rural Canberra and Yass is taking a modern home on over 7000 sqm to auction next month.
“It’s part of the coveted Carrington Park Estate and the home itself sits on the crest of the hill providing views across to the Yass Valley and is surrounded by friendly and community-minded neighbours.”
23 Marquess Street was designed by the current owners, Toni and Bjorn Pfeiffer. It was architecturally brought to life by Gr8 @tmosphere and built by a local builder Woodgreen Constructions.
